Legislation
These commitments will be achieved through the law-making powers of the Senate: sponsoring bills, amending the Constitution, and holding the executive to account through oversight. Where the final decision rests with others, I say so plainly.
Revive the Osogbo Steel Mill
Commissioned in 1983, the Osogbo Steel Rolling Mill supplied steel for the Third Mainland Bridge and was designed for 630,000 tonnes a year and 3,000 workers. Sold through the BPE alongside Nigeria Machine Tools, it now lies idle while Nigeria spends about $4 billion a year importing steel. House motions in 2022 and 2023 brought no change.
My Commitment: Sponsor a Privatised Assets Recovery Bill to reverse non-performing privatisations, transfer the Osogbo assets to Omoluabi Holdings Limited to engage credible operators under a performance bond, and lobby for Nigerian public projects to buy Nigerian steel.
Delivery: Public hearing in Osogbo within six months, bill in year one, and production restarting before the end of my term.
A National Cybersecurity Authority
This year alone, hackers broke into the Corporate Affairs Commission and ₦1.34 billion was moved out of Access Bank customers' accounts. Yet Nigeria's cyber defence is split between ngCERT, NITDA-CERRT and NCC-CSIRT with no one in charge, and the Cybercrimes Act has been used to prosecute more than 25 journalists. Nigeria is Tier 3 globally; Ghana is Tier 1.
My Commitment: Elevate NITDA-CERRT into one civilian Cybersecurity Authority that shares threat intelligence in real time, leads a coordinated response to attacks and protects critical infrastructure with the private sector, and replace Section 24 with a law that punishes fraud, not criticism.
Delivery: Bill in year one, passed by year three, and Nigeria at Tier 2 by the end of my term.
Independence for Our Traditional Rulers
Our Traditional Rulers keep the peace and carry our culture, yet the Constitution gives them no role, their finances depend on state governments, and customary courts are underfunded. HB 203, HB 2665 and SB 532 now seek to change this.
My Commitment: Building on HB 203, champion a National Council for Traditional Rulers bill that guarantees their financial autonomy free from governors' interference, funds customary courts, and gives traditional rulers a role in mediation and a seat on a multi-stakeholder committee for appointing the INEC Chairman.
Delivery: Introduced in the first constitution review cycle of my term.
Bring Back Our Councils
Local government is the tier closest to the people, yet across Nigeria elected councils have too often been replaced by unelected caretaker committees, and in Osun our councils have been paralysed by disputes over who controls them. In July 2024 the Supreme Court affirmed that only democratically elected councils may run local governments, but without fixed election dates the practice continues.
My Commitment: I will sponsor a constitutional amendment requiring local government elections every two years on a fixed timetable, conducted by an independent electoral body, outlawing caretaker committees, and releasing federal allocations only to elected councils.
Delivery: Amendment introduced in the first constitution review cycle of my term.Measure of Success: Fixed two-year local government election cycles written into the Constitution, and no caretaker committee in any LGA of Osun Central.
A Nigeria AI Act
Following the release of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy in 2025 by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Nigeria has a plan for artificial intelligence but no law to govern it. AI already decides loans, screens job applicants and shapes what Nigerians see online, and AI agents will soon act on our behalf.
My Commitment: I will sponsor a Nigeria AI Act and an AI Governance Framework that protects individuals, organisations and society: safeguarding citizens' rights and data, requiring transparency for high-risk AI systems, setting standards for AI agents, assigning accountability when AI causes harm, and encouraging Nigerian innovation rather than stifling it.
Delivery: Bill introduced by year two.
Measure of Success: An AI Act passed, with a governance framework in force for high-risk AI and AI agents.
A National Health Commission
Nigerians pay for medical care with no assurance of its quality, and no single body regulates and monitors the standard of core and specialist medical services across the country. In line with the Youth Party manifesto, I believe every Nigerian deserves safe, quality care.
My Commitment: I will sponsor legislation establishing a National Health Commission to regulate and monitor the quality of core and specialist medical services in public and private facilities, set national standards of care, inspect and rate hospitals and clinics, and publish the results so every Nigerian can choose care with confidence.
Delivery: Bill introduced by year two.
Measure of Success: A National Health Commission established in law, with quality ratings published for hospitals and clinics across Nigeria
Constituency Projects
These projects will be delivered through the constituency project allocations provided to every member of the National Assembly, working with the federal agencies that execute them. Every one will appear in the public project register, with its location, cost and status
A Tech Hub in Every LGA
Our young people are as talented as any in the world, but too few can reach the training and equipment the digital economy demands.
My Commitment: A Mini Tech Hub and Center for Vocational Education and Training in each of the ten LGAs, offering digital skills, coding, data, cybersecurity and practical trades, linked to certification and job placement.
Delivery: Two to three hubs a year, with all ten operating by the end of my term.
Health for Our Elders
Hypertension and diabetes are silent killers in our communities, and our elders too often travel far, and pay too much, for care.
My Commitment: Facilitate the siting of two Hypertension and Diabetes Centers, one in the Osogbo administrative zone and one in the Ikirun administrative zone, offering screening, treatment and follow-up, linked to primary health centers across all ten LGAs and supported by proven national and international hypertension and diabetes control programs.
Delivery: Screening outreach from year one, the first center opens within two years and the second within the term.
An Autism Center in Osogbo
Families of children with autism carry a heavy burden with almost no specialist support close to home.
My Commitment: Facilitate the siting of an Autism Center in Osogbo offering assessment, therapy, special education and family support using modern and emerging methods, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy where clinically appropriate, together with training for teachers and carers.
Delivery: Site and partners secured by year two, center open within the term.
Support for Students
No child from Osun Central should leave school or university because their family cannot pay the fees.
My Commitment: Support student programs across our schools and campuses and run an annual scholarship and bursary program for students from all ten LGAs, awarded on merit and need by an independent panel, with every year's beneficiary list published.
Delivery: First awards in year one, then every year of the term.
Fund Our Young Entrepreneurs
Good ideas die in Osun Central every day for want of a first naira of capital.
My Commitment: An annual entrepreneurship and start-up program with seed funding, mentoring and access to federal enterprise schemes, selected through open pitch competitions in every LGA.
Delivery: First cohort funded in year one, then every year of the term.
